WITS: Police prevent impending student protest.

Braamfontein community would have witnessed WITS student protest yesterday but was averted by heavy armed police at the school gate.

The students were gearing up to protest in connection with the death of one of them (Olorato Mongale). The deceased who passed away under tragic circumstances on 25 May 2025 had a befitting candlelight on Thursday, 29 May 2025, outside the Great Hall.

The WITS University, three days ago released a press release which is available via this link. The body of the 30 year old  student was found in Lombardy East in Johannesburg.

Investigation is underway to bring the culprits to justice.
