'A LIGHT TO MY PATH': People in my community.

"Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path" - Psalm 119:105
.
There are three words that has great influence over the souls of men but one is greater. This is why you need to be careful of the words you allow to enter into your life.
.
There's the word from men. Had blind Bartimaeus listened to the rebuke of men over his faith in Jesus, he'd have remained blind forever (Luke 18:35-43). It was the words of men that made thousands of Israelites to perish in the wilderness because they believed in impossibility (Num. 13-14).
.
There's the word that comes from the devil. God told Adam and Eve that they will surely die if they eat of the fruit of knowledge and evil but the devil told them they won't surely die (Gen. 2:16-17; 3:1-5).
.
There's the word that comes from self. The voice of the flesh would oftentimes speak to you to execute the works of the flesh (Gal. 5:19-21).
.
And there's the word that comes from God. Only God's word can lighten up your path in life lest you walk in darkness. God speaks to man through the written or spoken word and His word produces faith when you hear them (Rom. 10:17).
.
It is only the word of God you believe in that has the propensity to save you and lighten your path. It's His word that you abide in or that you put to use that can lighten your path. Every other words will make you walk in darkness because they can't give light.
.
Whose word would you believe in over that situation? Jesus held onto God's word and He defeated the devil (Matt. 4:1-11). Joseph stood firm on His word and he conquered sexual temptation (Gen. 39:9).
.
Would you believe in 'heaven helps those who help themselves' as an excuse to neglect God's input over that situation? Or 'body-no-be-firewood' as an avenue to commit sexual immorality?
.
Let His word lighten your path so you won't walk in the darkness of life.
