Success in life is all about following the right principles and this also applies to prayers. What are the 3Ps to receiving answers to one's prayers?
1. Purity: As said in the previous post, sin is the fundamental hindrance to prayer. Which means the principles of getting speedy response from God is to live a life of purity, a life devoid of sin.
In James 5:16b, the prayer of a righteous man availeth much. So if you live a holy life, there is no way God will ignore your prayers, He will surely reply you, either with results or response.
2. Praise: When you ask God to do that thing which you cannot do for yourself, then give God what He cannot do for Himself which is praise.
Praise is the only thing God cannot do for Himself and it is something He loves much more. This is why angels in heaven and the twenty four elders praise Him all day long.
Meanwhile, what an hour of prayer cannot achieve, a ten minute praise can do much more. Imagine if the walls of Jericho were to be pulled down by prayers, you can imagine the kind of prayers that would be offered.
I am sure it will be 50 days fervent prayer and fasting, but praise pulled down those strong walls in just a moment. God loves praises, even more than prayers because He inhabit the praises of His people.
When you pray, you are asking God to do something for you, but when you praise Him, you are thanking God for even the things He has not done and it's only a matter of time before He does all you have asked of him.
There is much power in praise. Paul and Silas prayed and sang and the miraculous occurred (Acts 16:25-26). Praise is the only thing God cannot do for Himself, so give Him lots of that and He will do for you what you cannot do for yourself. Psalm 64:4.
3. Persistence: I remember as a child if I ask my dad for something, I will have to tell him like three times before he remembers. It's not like he is unwilling to do it, but sometimes he forgets, maybe because he has a lot in his mind.
In Luke 11:8, a friend stopped by his friend's house in the middle of the night, he begged him for meal because he had an unexpected guest who paid him a visit and he had nothing to offer him. So he came to his neighbor to beg for bread, his neighbor responded that he should come back the next morning because it was late and his kids were sleeping.
But this man kept knocking and begged his friend for a meal because he can't afford to starve this important guest though it was late and this neighbour wouldn't want to attend to him that night but because of this persistent plea and disturbance, he arose and have him many.
In Luke 18:1, there is an arrogant strong king, who neither reverence God or man, a certain widow often come to him for justice, because of his arrogance he refused. But this widow wouldn't stop coming to the king for justice, because of her persistent plea and cry, the king avenge for her, not because he wanted to but because he doesn't want her to disturb his peace again.
Persistence is the key to receiving speedy response to your prayers. Whether you pray, you praise or you are living a sinless life, if you are not persistent enough, you will not get result to your petitions.
Live a life of purity, praise Him while you persistently seek God's face like the widow and the man who went to his friend for bread. God will arise for you.
