Historic Sunday Service: Cornerstone Church, Uptown.

Today's Sunday service was an historic one in the calendar of Cornerstone Church, Uptown. The church in the city started a new chapter in the order of service as many community members graced the first Sunday service.

The church operated main church services on Thursdays ever
since it opened its doors for the community in 2010 on corner De Korte and Melle Streets. And today welcome a new beginning in the order of service as main church services are moved to Sunday to accommodate everybody. The church is now situated on 2-4, De Beers Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Philip Quinn, in his message to members, from the book of Romans 12: 1-:( "And so, dear brothers and sisters,[a] I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him". N.L.T.) stated that "christianity is worship by glorifying God."

The pastor continued in his message that "the world is about individuality, self-centredness, and so on." Romans 12: 2: ( "Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.
Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." N.L.T.) He concluded on the second verse that "we must change the way we think!"

He reminded the congregants that "worship is part of belonging to
a local church (Cornerstone Church, Uptown), complementing one another and not thinking that we are better than one another; is doing worship in a right way."

He concluded that "you own something that you are part of" while encouraging community members to participate in the new
movements of the spirit through the church in the city.
