.
N-O, No!
.
There has been several misconception or teachings about the right partner when it comes to making marital choices. Many singles have been waiting endlessly on when Mr. Right or Miss Right would come. Some have been made to believe that the right partner will come from their church or appear as an angel in front of them suddenly, “Thus saith the Lord, I am thine right partner!” (smiles)
.
Is God an author of confusion? Is it only one person that would be suitable for you in the whole world of about a population of over 6 billion people?
.
If the answers to finding the right partner is in the Bible, then truths about the false teaching of ‘only one person is right for you’ will also be found in the bible.
.
Can we find answers to it in Genesis chapter 2? No! Eve was the only living creature as a human that Adam could easily decipher to be his suitable help meet. He knew that gorilla or chimpanzee won’t be his suitable help meet because he has both physical and spiritual senses that were functional.
.
But how can one be sure of the right partner in this continent, country, state, tribe and location? Does it have to be just one person?
.
The truth is this, there’s not just one person whom God has made as your only perfect match. He said, “I will make him a suitable help meet”, not the only help meet suitable for him. Did you get that?
.
To illustrate this biblically, let’s use the story of Abraham and his eldest servant’s story to explain it clearly that anyone could be a suitable help meet provided God is involved (Gen. 24).
.
“And it happened, before he had finished speaking, that behold, Rebekah, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, came out with her pitcher on her shoulder” – Genesis 24:15
.
Why did Rebecca became the answer to his prayer?
.
“and I will make you swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters (not one daughter) of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell; but you shall go to my country and to my family, and take a wife for my son Isaac” – Genesis 24:3-4
.
There was a country and a particular family where the wife must come from. So if Abraham gave him a different location, a wife will be found for Isaac. However, the important thing is that God was involved.
.
It wasn’t Abram that made the description but Abraham, a man whom God had changed through several personal encounter.
.
Now in this age, what you need to know as a child of God is that there are many children of God in the countries of the world and who were born into different families. What’s important in finding them is that you must be led of God.
.
They can come from any country or families in Africa, Asia, Europe, Antarctica and so on. God isn’t streamlined to your church, tribe, race or country.
.
To say it must be only sister A or brother B is the greatest height of confusion. In fact, any man of God that tells you that it must just be this person or that will confuse you if God hasn’t told you the same.
.
Seek to know God’s will yourself and don’t depend only on ‘God says’ when He hasn’t told you anything.
.
Now what happens if a brother or sister wish not to accept God’s will or missed His perfect will?
.
First, a man that wants God’s will as a marital choice must be a man whose heart God has touched. It is not a man or lady that is naturally driven (he must be tall, dark and handsome plus wealthy and romantic; she must be very beautiful, caring and endowed etc).
.
All of these are the choice of a carnal man and the carnal mind is God’s enemy (Rom. 8:7). If God will give you His will in marriage, you must have been ripped off your carnal desires and accept His will.
.
God cannot led you to an imbecile or someone who’s ugly. And if He does, He wants to manifest His glory in that situation (John 9:1-3). Yours is to trust and believe Him like Abraham did that it was counted to him as righteousness.
.
Now if by chance or situation you missed His will, maybe due to sin, disobedience, deception or the likes, there’s a remedy if you have not become one flesh with a man or woman. The solution is to genuinely repent (Acts 17:30) and go back to Him for direction.
.
I hope these would clarify the wrong notion that there’s not just one right partner for anyone in the world.
.
God has lots of children whom He has made as a suitable help meet for those who humbly request for His guidance. Depending on His divine arrangements, they can come from anywhere (tribe, church denomination, state, country or continent), yours is to depend on Him.
.
I’ll leave you with His word in John 8:32, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free”. “Buy the truth and sell it not” (Prov. 23:23).
.
God bless you!
